How to Take Care of Your Skin During Winter

Our wise Ancestors said Prevention is better than cure which is so true on many level.

Weather changes can have great impact on quality of skin health. Especially winter season is   One of the nightmare for our tender skin barrier as the cold air steals moisture from skin. So it’s no wonder it makes our skin more dry, scaly & itchy. It is quite important to follow effective steps & preventive measures to prepare skin for winter’s climate. 

Step 1 :

Prevent moisture loss:

  • Our skin produces its own oils with the help of sebaceous gland to protect the skin & keep it healthy. To maintain our skin’s natural oil avoid long bath with scratching hot water bath instead  take shorter bath  with warm water.
  • Use gentle soap and cleanser.
Step 2 :

Add additional moisture:

  • Dry environment causes the skin to loose moisture, using Humidifier will add back moisture to skin.
  • Always use face & body moisturizer immediately after shower (within seconds).
  • Apply moisturizing sunscreen even during dark  gray days as ur rays can permeate clouds & still cause damage.
  • Increase water intake to hydrate the skin & Eat whole food which are rich in vitamins proteins minerals & fatty acids.
Step 3:

Avoid irritants:

  • Wear clothes with natural fabrics, avoid synthetic materials. Layer your dresses with soft materials which  are gentle on skin & Avoid rough materials from directly touching your skin This can cause dry skin to get irritated and itchy also strips off body moisturizer.
  • Avoid spraying perfume on your skin.
  • Minimize the quantity of cloth detergent, and rinse thoroughly.
Step 4:

Opt for Dermatological  Profesional Treatment:

  • Gentle microdermabrasion with immediate application of moisturizing treatments.
  • Booster injection (your dermatologist will select the option for your skin).
  • Certain types of peels
  • Face PRP or PRF
The above treatments will stimulate collagen and elastin production to restore the skin quality, and hydration.
